The wine
Megamix Volume 2! A new version! A blend of Muscat, Gamay and Pinot Noir for this cuvée produced from organic grapes, vinified in whole bunches in a semi-carbonic process. A pure thirst-quencher! Exoticism, explosive fruit, cherry, for a blouge that glides along like mad! A summer glug! A joy!
The estate
Le Clos des Vignes du Maynes is the third generation of the Guillot family's commitment to producing true, living wines, without inputs, and as close as possible to the terroirs of the Mâcon-Cruzille appellation. Its origins date back to 910, when the Duke of Aquitaine founded the Abbey of Cluny. Owned by the Lords of Château de Cruzille, the estate then belonged to 5 generations of farmers before being purchased in 1952 by Pierre and Jeanne Guillot. A family quest for living Burgundy wine followed, with Julien Guillot taking over in 1998 and introducing biodynamic viticulture to the estate. Today, he is one of the world's leading exponents of natural wines. A winemaker we're particularly fond of, and his wines are nothing to sneeze at!
