Divem comes from the poorest soils of the Montpeyroux terroir, in a place called "Les Boissières", where Grenache delivers juice of exceptional quality. Syrah, Mourvèdre and Cinsault complete the blend for this extremely concentrated wine, with explosive candied black fruit, mainly blackberry jam and spices. A big keel that calls for full-bodied sauce dishes, mature prime rib, or the desire to remake the world, for two.
Gil Morrot, or Tonton Gillou to his friends, was a researcher at the CNRS working on wine perception when, in 1999, he acquired his first parcel of land in the commune of Montpeyroux. In 2000, he produced his first wine, named DIVEM, the initials of his five children. This wine was an instant hit with the public, and due to its low production, quickly became a highly coveted rarity, and with it Gil, one of the Languedoc's most renowned winemakers.
